About Our Business

November 25, 2016 By cscheafer

About Our Businessvegan_grass_mint_womens

Threaded Daisies is a woman owned and operated business located in beautiful Huntington Beach. As a Mom, I understand the importance of comfortable, durable and machine washable clothing for the entire family. This is why we only use the highest quality, premium shirts to create our topical T-shirts.

Eco-Friendly Inks

Our original designs are printed with eco-friendly, water-based inks that have been certified as safe for use on adult, youth and infant garments. These innovative and gentle inks bind directly with the cotton fibers in our premium T-shirts, making the design feel like part of the fabric. This creates a softer and more lightweight shirt without the heavy or thick feeling typically associated with printed shirts.

Sizing

In our shop, each product has its own sizing chart. Before placing your order, please take the time necessary to ensure a proper fit. Whenever possible, we suggest that you compare our sizes to a shirt that you already own.

Made To Order

All of our T-shirts are made to order and ship within 3-5 business days. We offer USPS First class and USPS Priority shipping. Please note that International orders are shipped via USPS First Class.

Original Designs

Our designs are all original. My ideas and concepts come from issues that are important to me and the people that I love. New designs are added all the time so be sure to check back regularly!!

Vegan Lifestyle

November 11, 2016 By cscheafer

Vegan Lifestyleevery-creature_adult_ltblue_nl

When you tell someone you’re vegan they usually have a lot to say. Unfortunately, much of what they say isn’t very nice. There are usually comments about how much you must miss bacon and cheese, and questions about how you get enough protein. You get used to been asked if you eat grass on a daily basis. I’m not really sure why vegans are scrutinized so much but it probably has to do with the fact that meat and dairy is considered a normal part of daily life.

Meat and dairy is pushed at us from every angle. Until you go vegan you don’t really notice it. The next time you’re at the grocery store, look around. You’ll see neat little packages with smiling chickens on top. Happy cows on milk and cheese, and friendly looking pigs on packages of hot dogs. The meat and dairy industry would like you to believe that farm animals are happy. This type of marketing sells more products and further removes consumers from the truth.

Life on the farm

The fact is that life on the farm is miserable. Animals are kept in incredibly small cages. They live in their own filth and are fed loads of antibiotics and/or hormones and are treated inhumanely. These animals live an awful life and die an even more horrible death. They are then packaged up neatly and sold to consumers around the world. The problem is that consumers never see the farms. The meat they buy looks nothing like the animal it once was, making it easy for people to never actually think about it.

More than a diet

Vegans do not eat meat. They don’t eat fish, cow’s milk, goat’s milk or sheep’s milk. They don’t eat cheese or eggs and they don’t eat honey. Veganism is more than just diet, it’s a lifestyle. Vegans don’t use products that contain or are tested on animals. They don’t wear leather or fur. They don’t support zoos or circuses. Vegans don’t do anything that involves the suffering or exploitation of animals.

Choose Compassion

Vegans are typically compassionate and gentle people. They care deeply for all living creatures. We should all strive to be so compassionate. The next time you meet a vegan think carefully before you throw stones. Chances are pretty good they aren’t going to insult you, shouldn’t you show them the same respect?

If you know and love a vegan, show your respect with one of our T-shirts for vegans! Threaded Daisies offers topical T-shirts for the entire family.  Please contact us for more information.

Choose Compassion

October 30, 2016 By cscheafer

Choose Compassionchoose-compassion_adult_white_nl

Compassion is one of the many feelings embedded in love. Compassionate people care about the happiness of others as if it were their own. They keep an open heart to their surroundings and provide genuine help when needed. Compassionate people make the world a better place.

Choosing compassion is about so much more than just caring about others. When you choose compassion you make a conscious effort to reduce suffering and improve life for all species, including your own.

Showing Compassion

People that embrace compassion do everything in their power to prevent and eliminate suffering. This might include not eating meat or other animal products or not using products that have been tested on animals. Regardless, a compassionate person will always show kindness to every living being that they encounter.

Compassionate people tend to be more outwardly focused. They use their personal experiences to develop a more empathetic nature. This helps them to understand others so that they are able to help when needed.

Compassion Is Good For You

Feelings of compassion or love towards other people or animals can make a person feel better overall. This is because compassion heals the soul and makes us feel whole. While it might feel good to be loved, loving someone or something actually feels much better.

Spreading Compassion

A major component of compassion is giving back. Actions that are caring and loving allow us to feel more love in return. Most people report that volunteering provides them with some of the most memorable, rewarding and character-building experiences that life can offer. However, when you give back, you gain far more than mere experience. You learn compassion, which is quite possibly the greatest gift that you can receive.

Compassionate people show real interest in something they fully understand. They are well-educated on the issue at hand. If they aren’t, they will take the time necessary to listen and learn. Understanding is a crucial part of true compassion.

Threaded Daisies offers topical T-shirts for the entire family. Our Choose Compassion T-shirt is available for infants, toddlers, children and adults.  For information about Threaded Daisies, please click here.

Showcase Your Beliefs with Topical T-Shirts

October 23, 2016 By cscheafer

Showcase Your Beliefs with Topical T-Shirtsloveislove_adult_ltblue_nl

We all have something that we believe in. Whether it’s gay rights, dietary or other lifestyle choices, it’s important to embrace your convictions. If you tend to be more reserved, wearing a topical T-shirt allows you to speak up without even opening your mouth.

Take a stand

The word “topical” is defined as an issue or subject that is of immediate relevance, interest or importance due to its relation to current events. Subjects that fall into this category include sexism, racism, politics and gay rights. These are important issues that affect all of us in some way or another. In order to progress and improve as a society we need people that aren’t afraid to stand up for what’s right.

Topical T-shirts start meaningful conversations, allowing you to tell others why you feel the way you do. Even though you might not be able to convince everyone to agree with you, talking about your beliefs is an excellent way to make an impact. People that aren’t afraid to speak their mind and stand up for the causes that are important to them are happier and considered more attractive than those that do not.

Someone that wears their beliefs on a T-shirt appears confident and unapologetic. They proudly show the world that they are strong and well-educated about current events.

Honesty

People that speak their minds tend to be incredibly honest people. Honest people have a lot to gain including trust, transparency and awareness. They are easy to be around and never leave their friends and family guessing what they’re thinking. Honest people make fantastic leaders, business owners and parents.

Live life to the fullest

People that speak their minds understand that life is short. They never miss an opportunity to tell someone how they feel or spread awareness about important issues. They are true to who they are, live consciously and create their own opportunities. People that speak their minds typically do not have regrets.

Threaded Daisies has topical T-shirts for the entire family. Check back often because new items are added all the time. Click here to view our shop.

Stop the Mommy-Shaming

October 16, 2016 By cscheafer

Stop the Mommy-Shamingmommy-shaming

Visit any school or playground and you’re bound to run into someone that believes you’re raising your kids wrong. We’ve all seen the sideways glances, the eye-rolls and the subtle (and sometimes not so subtle) comments. I’ve heard people complaining about other parents under their breath. I’ve seen parents attacking each other on Facebook. Backhanded comments might seem innocent at first but they can throw a person completely off balance. Suddenly you’re not sure if you’re doing anything right. Mommy-shaming is adult bullying at its worst.

It starts with questions and “advice”

The questions start the moment you announce that you’re pregnant. “How many kids will you have?” “Are you going to stay home or return to work?” Suddenly everyone is an expert on what you should and shouldn’t eat or drink. They speak up about everything from bathroom habits to horror stories about birth. Sometimes they even go so far as to tell you that your doctor is wrong.

As soon as you get even remotely close to your due date everyone wants to know what you’re going to do once the baby arrives. Will you breastfeed or bottle-feed, vaccinate or not? Will you give time-outs? The list goes on and on. It seems like everyone has their own opinion on how you should and shouldn’t raise your children.

Mommy-shaming hurts us all

We are all scared that we’re doing something wrong and we all worry that we’re going to damage our children in some way. When we put others down for parenting differently than us we intensify that fear. While it might make us feel better to “think” that someone is doing a worse job of parenting than we are, mommy-shaming hurts all of us in the long run.

There’s a lot of truth to the saying “it takes a village to raise a child”. Even parents that aren’t surrounded by friends and family, look to their peers for guidance and support. You have no idea what that mom struggling at the grocery store is going through. Hurtful remarks are never helpful. If we could just reach out to that struggling parent instead, I’m sure that all of us, including our children, would benefit.

At Threaded Daisies we dream of a day when mommy-shaming is a thing of the past. The only people qualified to decide what is right or wrong for their children are their parents or guardians. Show your support by sharing this article.
